Quail is a highly nutritious protein, naturally rich in high-quality protein, calcium, iron, and zinc, along with essential vitamins B, D, A, and K.

Quail is naturally lean and considered hypoallergenic. Many pets that are sensitive or allergic to common poultry proteins can still tolerate quail, making it an excellent alternative option.

As a whole-prey item, quail fledglings provide more than just meat. The inclusion of feathers (ruffage) adds natural fiber to support gut health, while organs, glands, and blood contribute a concentrated source of essential vitamins and minerals.

Some pets may not immediately recognize whole prey as food and may spend time sniffing, carrying, or playing with it first—this is completely normal and can provide valuable mental enrichment.

Preparation:

Quail fledglings are humanely and safely euthanized using CO₂.
Each bird is hand-washed to remove debris, soaked in white vinegar (acetic acid), then thoroughly rinsed and patted dry prior to freeze-drying.
